Simple, Timeless, Studio Newborn Session, Darien, CT

This year has been the year of newborns! Many people come to be wondering whether they should do a studio or in home newborn session. Both have many benefits and I am happy to talk you through them! The most important thing to me is making sure everyone feels comfortable and relaxed, whether it is a studio newborn session or an in home newborn session. This adorable family decided on a studio session in my studio in Darien, CT. Mom borrowed a dress from the client wardrobe, and I brought neutral swaddles to capture timeless, simple moments.

During both, in home and studio, newborn sessions I use natural light to capture authentic moments and simple family portraits. I offer styling through our phone calls before the session, however, I love how each family brings a bit of their own style.

I met this sweet family for an in home newborn session for their adorable boy a year ago! And now I am thrilled to share his 12 month milestone session in my studio in Darien, CT. Milestone sessions are a quick and perfect way to capture timeless portraits on your little ones. They grow and change so quickly, I love to capture their many expressions. When I entered this gorgeous home in Westport, CT, I was surrounded by so many people that love this precious girl. In addition to her sweet parents, both sets of grandparents came for the session! They even had fun dog! It reminded me of when my oldest daughter Isabel was born. She was the first grand child on both sides of the family. Mila is a lucky little girl! We did some of the session with a “posed” feel, and the rest with a lifestyle feel. Which is my favorite combination. We used the natural light in this sweet nursery for family photos in Westport, CT.

Before the session mom and I spoke several times to plan the session. As a mom myself I know how hard these early days are and I wanted everyone to be as comfortable as possible.

In Home/Outdoor Maternity Session, Darien, CT

This adorable family is new to town and expecting their second baby! We watched the weather as we planned this maternity session in Darien, CT, and anyone local knows this has been one snowy winter! I loved that we were able to capture moments in various places inside and outdoors.

I love when moms decide to capture this precious time. When I was pregnant with my second my friend took a picture of me pregnant, then framed it and gave it to me. I treasure that photo so much.

This year with no events and celebrations these photos will be treasured even more.

While pregnancy is hard it really is so beautiful. Such a miracle. Such a gift.

In Home First Birthday, Family Session, Norwalk, CT

I am thrilled to share this in home, family session in Norwalk, CT. We used natural light to capture simple, timeless family photos. Baby C was born right before COVID hit and like many families couldn’t do newborn photos during that time so it was extra special to celebrate his first birthday during this family session.

We used areas of their home with natural light to capture family portraits, sweet moments, and lots of smiles and cuddles.

I loved the simple tones of their outfits! I may need that dress for myself. Baby C’s adorable overalls can be found here . The warm colors and beautiful natural light helped capture so many fun images. Baby C has the sweetest personality. He warmed up so quickly and had huge smiles!

He was so fast, crawling and walking, we stuck him in his gorgeous crib to capture his beaming smile.

I love how during in home family sessions, we can capture your little one in their “home” in their natural environment.

We ended the session with a mini cake smash! Who can resist those adorable moments of a baby sampling cake for the first time?

Studio Milestone Session, Six Month Session, Darien, CT

It literally felt like a dream come true shooting my first ever studio session. This little studio is a true gem. It has gorgeous natural light and a warm soft feeling. While I love shooting in people’s homes and outdoors using the studio is a great option for simple, timeless, portraits. I am so happy to now offer studio milestone sessions. Milestone sessions are great sessions to carpture different times for your little one, they include newborn, tummy time, sitter, birthday, cake smash and standing.

Another highlight of the studio is I know offer styling for your appointment. If you wish you can be styled by one of my favorite local stores, Wee Mondine. There is a beautiful array of gorgeous dresses, sweaters, and even mommy and me matching.

Baby D came in the studio for a sitter session. Sitting is such a fun milestone because babies are so interactive at this age. Baby D has the most beautiful smile!

I am excited to share this in home newborn session in Stamford, CT. This beautiful family booked a maternity and newborn session. We did their maternity session by their home on the beach in Stamford, CT.

They chose an in home newborn session which was beautiful in their sweet nursery. I loved their wallpaper choice (I am a huge wallpaper fan) and used the windows to capture the sweet moments.

Family Beach Session, Darien, CT

Many of you know I just adore everything about the beach. I find it to be my favorite place to spend time with my family, to relax, and to connect with friends. The beach also happens to be one of my favorite locations for family photos. Over the next couple weeks I am going to share more from 2020 beach sessions! I am so excited that many returning clients have already booked a family session for 2021!

We are super lucky that we have two town beaches in Darien, CT. We also have gorgeous beaches in many surrounding towns. In the evening the light at the beach is just gorgeous! It makes for timeless family photos. I love to capture a mix of fun and candid, as well as, some posed shots!
