I was just sharing a bit on my instagram about how in-home newborn sessions were what started my business a few years ago. While I always had a passion for photography, as I became a mom myself I felt overwhelmed by how fast it all went. I remember coming home from the hospital, tired, scared, hormonal and just full of love.

I feel like the first few weeks are just a blur of diapers and feeding. Some of the nights felt like the stretched on forever. I remember staring out the window of our little apartment in NYC while rocking my baby girl. As tired as I was I just wanted to freeze it all.

And now it feels like a lifetime ago and just yesterday at the same time. While I still hug my baby girl, who is now officially taller than me sometimes I wish for a moment back to the beginning. Anyways, I am emotionally rambling on, but I am so thankful for the photos I have. The photos that bring back the memories. The photos that bring back the emotions.

I am thrilled to share this beautiful in-home newborn session in Darien, CT. I met this beautiful family during a Fall family session and was excited to see them again and capture their new baby girl. I was just blown away by this beautiful nursery in Darien, CT. So many thoughtful details. Even the dresser was repainted and repurposed by mom herself. Each corner of the nursery was crafted with such thought and care. The complete nursery was just perfect. Even the mobile hanging over baby’s crib was made by mom herself.

I knew we had to spend much of this in-home newborn session in this special room.

Mom and dad were just bursting with love for baby Milie. Baby Millie was so content in her parent’s arms! They were just filled with snuggles and admiration!

Mom was wearing a stunning dress from nothing fits but, you can find there dresses here. Baby girl was wearing an adorable outfit from my favorite local children’s boutique, Weemondine .

We spent most of the session in the nursery, then found a pocket of beautiful natural light in the dining area to capture more moments during this in-home newborn session!

Keeping so busy with in-home newborn sessions this month! I thought I would share a bit about the process of booking and having an in home newborn session.

There are so many benefits to having an in home newborn session. Photos from your newborn session will help remember the memories of those early days. A newborn session in your home is less stressful for everyone. No one has to bundle up and go out into the cold. Siblings are most comfortable in their own homes. We can also capture those special spots like the nursery you set up, the glider you rock your baby on, personalized gifts from loved ones.

When people reach out for their in home newborn session I start by sending information on my sessions. I send over a session guide, wardrobe guide, and love to answer any specific questions. I have a small client wardrobe I can lend new mothers with some favorite dresses from here .

To hold your spot I send over a contract. In my calendar I hold your due date. That way we can see when baby arrives and if baby has any appointments before scheduling our in home newborn session. I do in home newborn sessions on weekday mornings.

While I often do in home newborn sessions around two weeks old, sometimes I even do them up until 8-12 weeks old! I promise you will still have images of your sweet little one!

To each session I bring a bag of swaddles and a bean bag I can set up for optimal light. When I arrive I usually have dad show me around! We can find spaces with natural light and can move anything we don’t want in photos.

When there are siblings involved I try to play off there energy! Making sure they feel included and special.

After your in home newborn session, in about two weeks, you will receive a beautiful gallery of high resolution images. All your images will be yours. Busy moms don’t have to spend time selecting only a few images, they will all be yours to treasure. In addition, the gallery is linked to professional printing labs. I am also here to help you with custom framing and album design. Your memories will be preserved forever.

I was so excited when this beautiful mom invited me into her home to capture her beautiful twin babies! In- home newborn sessions are always such a favorite for me. I love capturing newborn in their home, the place where all their memories will begin. This in -home newborn session not only had the most precious babies but also the sweetest big siblings.

A question I get asked all the time if when is the best time for newborn photos. While I advise new parents if you truly want the sleepy newborn stage then about two weeks is a great time, however, that being said even up to two months captures adorable newborn photos!

I loved how baby M and baby F stayed awake for most of their session! They both have the most incredible blue eyes! Then they fell asleep toward the end of our in home newborn session.

This newborn session was on a dreary spring morning, but the adorable nursery, gorgeous baby and loving parents made more a perfect session!

I was so excited when my dear friend reached out to gift this newborn session. I think the best gift you can give someone is photos. We spend so much on gear and baby clothes, and soon our babies will grow right out of it. Photos are a gift that truly lasts a lifetime. For this in home newborn session in Darien, CT, we did pictures in the living room and the nursery! The nursery had nice warm tones and colors.

Baby Wade has the most amazing head of hair! He reminded me of my middle, Morgan.

During these cold winter months I love in home newborn sessions. You and your little ones can stay in the comfort of your cozy home, no need to bundle anyone and go outside! My oldest was a January baby and I loved just staying in and cuddling her during that first winter!

I am excited to share this in home newborn session in Darien, CT. After mom reached out we quickly connected over the phone to plan our session. We discussed images she was hoping for, told me more about her family and her home. I shared my thoughts and ideas and together we created a plan for our session. When I entered this gorgeous home in Westport, CT, I was surrounded by so many people that love this precious girl. In addition to her sweet parents, both sets of grandparents came for the session! They even had fun dog! It reminded me of when my oldest daughter Isabel was born. She was the first grand child on both sides of the family. Mila is a lucky little girl! We did some of the session with a “posed” feel, and the rest with a lifestyle feel. Which is my favorite combination. We used the natural light in this sweet nursery for family photos in Westport, CT.

Before the session mom and I spoke several times to plan the session. As a mom myself I know how hard these early days are and I wanted everyone to be as comfortable as possible.

In Home Newborn Session using Natural Light, New Canaan, CT

I am thrilled to share my first newborn session of 2021. This was an in home newborn session, we used natural light to capture beautiful portraits and sweet moments. Baby Hart had the most gorgeous nursery. The soft colors and warm light made for a cozy spot for in home newborn photos.

Big sister had so many sweet snuggles for her little brother. She was a complete doll in her gorgeous dress, just glowing in the natural light.

I always love photos with the glider. Our glider was passed to us from a family member and it was so special. After nursing three babies in it, and reading endless board books, I don’t think I can ever part with it. I still miss those days of rocking my babies.

Sweet newborn baby Hart was a dream during his first photoshoot! He was so content!
